The name for the shape for this bracelet is rick rack – it’s also the name of a decorative trim, used mostly in clothing. As a child, I remember my mother using it to adorn simple dresses to give them a bit of pizzazz and a pop of color. Thanks to the things I’ve been learning about geometric beadwork, I was able to create that shape in this bracelet. This reversible bracelet starts from a MRAW base of gold Miyuki delica seed beads, and features two layers – one matte black, and a shorter matte silver frost, both edged with the same gold delica beads as the base. Wear it displaying the black side alone for day, or turn inside out to display both layers. This lovely bangle bracelet is 1 and 1/2 inches wide, and has an inner circumference of 8 and 1/4 inches when worn with only the black layer is in view. The fit is a little looser when showing both layers. Ultimately, the choice is yours to make.
